Interior Furnishings Consultant services were provided for the new two-story, 93,800 square foot elementary school located in Corinth. The facility consolidated students, teachers, staff and program from five existing elementary schools in Bradford, Corinth, Kenduskeag, Hudson and Stetson. Central Community Elementary School accommodates 581 students in kindergarten through 5th grade, plus a Pre-K program. CWS Architects Interior Team collaborated with the School Furnishings Committee, architecture and design team and community stakeholders to develop, design and determine the furniture, fixtures and equipment (FFE) selections for the new school. FFE services were provided for the educational program spaces and both the principal and superintendent administrative suites. Classrooms are designed to seat twenty students in a collaborative and flexible learning arrangement along with teachers’ desks configured for small group learning activities and Ed-Tech’s have in-classroom hoteling workstations. The Life Skills and Autism classrooms were sectioned in zones to promote independent student activities and support group programs. The elementary school supports their young students with creativity in specialty spaces such as the library, art and music classrooms, computer lab and team/presentation areas. The school has a cafeteria seating 252 students in a variety of styles from bench seating to café height stools. The principal and superintendent administrative suites are located within the facility offering support to parents, students, teachers and staff. Each suite has open work areas, private offices, conference rooms, work room and support/storage spaces.
