This project was the third in a line of similar space designs for Southern Maine Health Care’s Biddeford Hospital that also included two CT Suites. The project was specific to the design and integration of the 2,165 square foot Interventional Radiography Imaging suite on the first floor of the main hospital. The suite included typical Patient Prep, Staff Prep, and Main Control and Equipment rooms. Typical space isolation, lighting and equipment layout and design detailing were the focus of the primary procedure room. Color selection was deliberate incorporating branding concerns as well as the need to respond to patient comfort concerns. The result of careful detailing and construction phasing allowed for a successful project that impacted spaces beyond the limits of the suite without forcing down time in a critical use facility.
