Walpole Ground Water and Surface Water Remedial Action Facility

Walpole, MA

The intent for this project was to create a prototype building concept that could be used on several brownfield sites in Massachusetts. The 3,600 square foot building houses a ground water and surface treatment system and the associated support spaces. Office, analytical lab and toilet room spaces where provided within the building. The main structure of the building is a prefabricated metal building system. The exterior cladding is a mix of metal wall panel and cement panels and trim adding interest and creating a building feel that might work for several contexts. A typical barn’s form and detailing set the basis of the design leading to the color selections and window placement and detailing.
