A community-centered housing development that integrates affordable living with urban agriculture and education to create a vibrant, mission-driven neighborhood hub.
This project was driven by goals of sustainability, efficiency, and resident well-being. The building features a high-performance, energy-efficient design and offers a mix of studio and multi-bedroom apartments, along with shared community rooms, educational spaces, and on-site offices for property management.
At the ground level, the building strengthens its connection to the neighborhood through a commercial space occupied by Cultivating Community; a local nonprofit focused on food security, nutrition, and urban farming. This mission is further reinforced by an on-site garden—part of their network of growing spaces throughout downtown Portland—embedding access to fresh food and education into daily life.
Within walking distance of downtown, grocery stores, restaurants, schools, pharmacies, and Portland Adult Education, the project offers convenient access to essential services while fostering independence and connectivity for residents.
