A connected senior living campus that pairs adaptable housing with welcoming shared spaces to support comfort, independence, and community.
Located in the Oak Hill area of Scarborough, Maine, this three-story senior housing community was designed to expand and enhance an established campus setting. Positioned adjacent to its sister building – Bessey Commons I located just behind CWS’s Scarborough office – the two facilities now function together as a cohesive residential campus for older adults.
The new building includes 40 one-bedroom adaptable apartments ranging from approximately 567 to 783 square feet, offering flexible layouts that support aging in place and long-term comfort. Thoughtfully designed shared amenities promote connection and daily ease, including a central living room with library and TV lounge, a café-style kitchen, a health room for visiting nurse services, and multiple sunrooms designed for reading, puzzles, and quiet relaxation.
Common laundry facilities, administrative offices, and well-planned circulation spaces further support both residents and staff, creating an environment that balances independence with accessible support services.
