LOCATION

Corinth, Maine

SIZE

93,800 SF

A collaborative, student-centered elementary school designed to support flexible learning, inclusive education, and strong community connection under one unified campus.

Central Community Elementary School was designed to bring together students, teachers, staff, and programs from five existing elementary schools in Bradford, Corinth, Kenduskeag, Hudson, and Stetson into a single, unified learning environment.

Serving 581 students in kindergarten through fifth grade, along with a pre-K program, the new school emphasizes collaboration, flexibility, and student-centered learning. CWS’s Interior Team worked closely with the School Furnishings Committee, the architectural design team, and community stakeholders to develop comprehensive furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) solutions for both educational and administrative spaces throughout the facility.

Classrooms were thoughtfully planned to support flexible teaching styles and collaborative learning, with furniture arrangements designed for small group interaction and adaptable instructional formats. Teacher workstations and in-classroom hoteling areas for Ed-Tech staff further support dynamic educational environments. Specialized Life Skills and Autism classrooms were organized into distinct zones that encourage independent student activity while accommodating group-based learning and support programs.

Beyond the classroom, the school includes a variety of specialty spaces that foster creativity and engagement, including a library, art and music rooms, computer lab, and team presentation areas. The cafeteria accommodates 252 students with a range of seating types—from traditional benches to café-height stools—creating a more welcoming and varied dining experience.

Administrative spaces for both the principal and superintendent are integrated within the building to provide accessible support for students, staff, and families. These suites include open work areas, private offices, conference rooms, workrooms, and dedicated support spaces designed for efficient daily operations.
