A transformative facility that has expanded Good Shepherd Food Bank’s capacity to deliver nutritious food, strengthen community partnerships, and advance a healthier future for Maine.

Driven by a vision to become Maine’s nutrition bank, Good Shepherd Food Bank has continually expanded its capacity to store and distribute healthy, perishable food throughout the state. Since 2004, CWS has partnered with the organization to help turn that vision into reality through a series of strategic facility improvements and expansions.

The relationship began with the design of a 60,000-square-foot headquarters and distribution facility that brought together corporate offices, warehouse operations, and food distribution functions under one roof. The building was designed to support the organization’s growing mission while creating an efficient operational hub for serving communities across Maine.

As demand increased and the organization’s role evolved, additional projects were undertaken to expand capabilities and improve the overall campus. These improvements included a 12,100-square-foot expansion of cooler and freezer storage capacity, enabling greater distribution of nutritious and perishable foods, as well as the addition of a new covered entry and patio area that enhances the arrival experience for staff, volunteers, partners, and visitors.

Through a long-term collaborative partnership, the facility has evolved alongside the organization’s mission, helping Good Shepherd Food Bank increase its impact and strengthen food security throughout Maine.
