A unified elementary school designed to foster collaborative learning, inclusive support services, and strong community engagement for a growing student population.
Robert V. Connors Elementary School was created to unite the students, teachers, staff, and programs of the former Martel and Longley Elementary Schools into one cohesive and future-focused learning environment.
Serving more than 880 students from pre-K through sixth grade, the new school was designed to support a wide range of educational, developmental, and community needs. CWS’s Interior team collaborated closely with the School Furnishings Committee, the architectural design team, and community stakeholders to develop comprehensive furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) solutions throughout the facility.
The school program features six pre-K classrooms, forty-two standard classrooms designed for collaborative and flexible learning, and a broad range of specialty spaces that enrich the student experience. These include STEM labs, art and music rooms, band spaces, a library, PT/OT suites, a health clinic, and dedicated teacher and student support areas.
A multipurpose stage strategically positioned between the gymnasium and cafeteria allows performances and events to utilize multiple gathering spaces, reinforcing the school’s role as a community hub. The administrative suite and support spaces were also carefully planned to create an accessible and welcoming environment for students, families, and staff.
