A carefully phased, high-performance imaging suite that enhances clinical capabilities while maintaining uninterrupted hospital operations.
As the third in a series of imaging upgrades for Southern Maine Health Care’s Biddeford Hospital—following two CT suite projects—this effort focused on expanding the hospital’s advanced diagnostic and procedural capabilities. The project centered on the design and integration of a 2,165-square-foot Interventional Radiography Imaging suite on the first floor of the main hospital. The suite includes dedicated patient prep and staff prep areas, along with primary control and equipment rooms, all carefully organized to support efficient workflows and clinical precision.
Within the procedure room, detailed attention was given to equipment layout, lighting, and space isolation to meet the technical demands of interventional imaging. At the same time, interior finishes and color selections were thoughtfully aligned with the hospital’s branding while prioritizing patient comfort in a highly specialized environment.
Careful coordination and phased construction allowed the project to extend beyond the suite itself, upgrading adjacent areas without disrupting operations in this critical, continuously active facility.
